Emerson is a privately held, full service general contracting firm based in Temple, Texas.

Founded in 1979, we have developed a solid, satisfied customer base in educational, government, municipal, retail, and other specialized markets with over 90% of our typical yearly volume of work from repeat customers. Our projects include ground up as well as remodel projects. We have developed a particular expertise in complex, multi-faceted new construction as well as remodel projects on occupied job sites.

We are able to successfully deliver projects large and small, complex and simple by effectively – and proactively – managing the entire construction process. We adhere to critical sequencing yet are flexible enough to adjust to unforeseen condition changes.

1979

A Vision Constructed
George Emerson founded Emerson Construction Company, Inc., guided by a vision of honesty, quality, integrity, and trust. From its earliest projects, the company earned a reputation for quality work and trusted relationships across Central Texas.

1983

Leading The Industry
Recognized for his leadership and dedication to the construction community, George Emerson served as President of the Austin Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), helping shape industry standards and professional excellence.

1987

Carrying The Legacy Forward
Following George’s unexpected passing, ownership of the company passed to Mrs. Barbara Emerson and their sons, Ron and Chuck Emerson. Together, they honored George’s legacy by continuing to build the company on the same strong foundation of honesty, quality, and respect.

1992

New Generation of Leadership
As Emerson Construction continued to grow, ownership transitioned fully to Ron and Chuck Emerson, who expanded the company’s reach and reaffirmed its reputation for delivering exceptional projects across Texas.

2007

Focused Leadership
Following decades of shared leadership and growth under Ron and Chuck Emerson, ownership transitioned solely to Chuck Emerson. The company continued to build upon the strong foundation and reputation established during Ron’s tenure.

2019

Four Decades of Excellence
Emerson Construction proudly celebrated 40 years of serving clients and communities with integrity and craftsmanship — a milestone that honors both the company’s roots and its continued evolution.

2021

A New Chapter: Employee Ownership
Emerson Construction became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, ensuring that every team member shares in the company’s success and future. This transition reflects Emerson’s belief that its people are its greatest strength and the key to lasting success.

2025

Recognition for Exceptional Leadership
Chuck Emerson inducted into the University of Texas Recreational Sports Hall of Honor for his work and dedication to both the Gregory Gym renovation and the construction of the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex.

Our $10 million overhaul of Camp Tahuaya was one of the most complex projects our organization has ever undertaken, and Emerson Construction proved to be the ideal partner every step of the way.
